Hair Removal Options For Women

In modern society we’re led to believe that to achieve the ultimate level of sexiness you need barely any hair. So, if ridding ourselves of body hair is the objective, what’s the best way to do it?

Shaving is the most common method of them all. With a few simple strokes of the razor blade our hair is temporarily removed. Home waxing kits take a while but often return longer lasting Chemical hair removers such as Nair and Sally Hansen promise but rarely deliver the results they claim.

The needs of the individual will determine which method is best for you. The following is an outline of the available hair removal techniques.

Shaving

Price: Shaving is an incredibly cheap hair removal method. It can cost anything from $5 to $10 a month.

Time: On average shaving takes 5 to 10 minutes or less.

Longevity of Results: Shaven hair will usually grow back with 1 to 3 days. You’ll find this varies dramatically from one person to the next.

Risks: There aren’t really any risks associated with shaving aside from the occasional nick.

The Pros: It’s inexpensive, easy and there generally aren’t any risks.

The Cons: Shaven hair doesn’t stay short for long. It’s known to grow back very quickly.

Waxing

Price: Moderately inexpensive. A home waxing kit will cost anything from $10 up to $20.

Time: One of waxing’s major draw backs is the time needed. It can take hours! For best results you should split the body up into areas to work on throughout the week.

Longevity of Results: Waxed hair can take between 3 and 8 weeks to grow back.

Risks: Waxing doesn’t really carry risks. Care should be taken to ensure the wax isn’t too hot to burn the skin. Checking a small area for allergic reactions is also advisable.

The Pros: A pleasant alternative to shaving! Waxing prevents rough stubble until the hair grows back. The smooth silky feeling will ensure leaving your skin hairless and super sexy.

The Cons: It can take a long time to fully wax your body. Also, the wax can be hard to use properly and often fails to remove all the targeted hair. You’ll find yourself returning to the microwave frequently!

Hair Removal Lotion

Price: Usually between $5 and $10.

Time: Anywhere between 10 minutes and a full half hour.

Longevity of Results: Although I haven’t yet achieved satisfactory results with this method, those that do claim the hair can take slightly longer than shaven hair to grow back.

The Risks: Can cause all manner of problems, namely, allergic reactions, chemical burning and skin irritation. Read through and follow the instructions very closely.

The Pros: The usage of hair removal lotions minimizes the risk of nicks caused by shaving. They can also yield longer lasting results than those from shaving.

The Cons: Takes a lot longer than simple shaving and doesn’t always produce perfect results. As stated earlier it may also damage and irritate the skin, particularly around hair follicles.
