Hairstyles for Every Hair Length

Filed under: Beauty, clothes, hair, makeup, trends — Admin @ 4:19 am

A bad hair day is just as bad as a bad hair cut. That’s why a lot of people entrust their hair to only one person or sometimes one salon. Hair is more than one’s crowning glory. Well groomed hair provides a lot of positive effects to a person’s bearing. Not only does it do justice to your image, but it also boosts your confidence in a lot of ways.

For men with really short hair, there is not much you can do with 2 to 3 inches of hair strands, is there? But taking everything into consideration, the hair type, thickness, waviness, and the brittleness of the hair, will contribute to the overall appearance of the cut.

Even though there is limited length to work with on short hair, it is still possible to make a neat yet stylish hairdo for them. One trendy style you can try is, and blame it on him who popularizes it, the Beckham haircut or the faux-hawk. It is another version of the punkish do called Mohawk where the sides are trimmed short while the top sticks out in a thin bush of hair.

If you want a more sophisticated and decent look, the brush aside style will surely fit your taste. It’s a short cut all over, but the bangs are left at medium length, and as the name goes, brushed aside.

Another style you can create for short hairs is the brushed-up do. To achieve this look is not that hard. Any short trimmed hair can simply stroke up their bangs to the back and keep the sides shorter for a neat look.

One good thing about short hair though is its manageability. You can easily style it in any possible way without worrying about having a messed up look at the end of the day.

For long hair, it is important to keep it as clean and neat as possible; otherwise you’re really planning to have a rough look. The main point is not to hide your face with your long hair.

Long, straight hair is always a classic look, even for men. Simple, neat, decent, and it has a lot of impact.

Curly and wavy hair can also be gorgeous when worn long. It has a lot of texture and body, which looks really sleek and sexy.

It can also be parted on the side or in the center or tucked behind the ears. This really depends on your taste and the image you’re setting for yourself.

A medium hairdo is smack dab in the middle of the easy and hard level of styling. It’s easy because you have more options to style your hair. More length means more to work with. But the problems of manageability and maintenance pop up. It is still a hassle, especially for people on the go.

It is usually shorter on the sides and thick on the top, and the strands measures from four inches to down to chin length.

Some styles that you can try for this length are shaggy, the classic straight hair, or if you’re bold enough - the modified version of the fro style is really pimp. Koreanovela inspired hairstyles are also causing a fad.

How to Store Makeup Brushes

Filed under: Beauty, clothes, hair, makeup, trends — Admin @ 9:36 am

By Mercedes Aspland

Good quality makeup brushes can cost a bit more but they are worth it for the finish that you get. However it is important to take care of them to ensure they last for a long time and you get value for your money. The aim of this article is to give you some advice and tips on how to take care of your make up brushes.

There are various different options for storing your make up brushes at home and below are our top tips, one of which will be great for you:

1. Roll up Bags

If you buy a set of brushes you will probably find that they come with a roll up bag. If you buy them separately then you can purchase a roll up bag for your brushes. Make sure that the bag you go for has separate compartments for each of your brushes. Doing this will prevent cross contamination between your brushes.

2. Free Make up Bags

When you buy make up you often get given free make up bags that you never use. However you can get something out of them by using them to store your brushes. If you go for this option it is important to make sure you keep the bags very clean to stop bacteria getting on to your brushes. You should also make sure that you have different bags for brushes used for powder and brushes used for liquid.

3. Jars

If you want to keep your brushes on the side you can keep them in jars. These can be picked up for very low cost and you will need about 3. This will enable you to keep brushes of different sizes in different jars. Again this will help to prevent contamination of one brush to another.

Other important things to remember include never storing your brushes in direct sunlight. Leaving them in the sunlight will cause the fibres to wear down and dramatically reduce the life of your brushes. You should also make sure they are not kept in a very hot environment as this can cause make up to cake on to the brushes and completely ruin them.

If you have any brushes that you dont use, maybe those that come free when you buy make up, dont throw them away. You should just store them in plastic bags and they can be used when you travel.

It is also important to take care of those brushes that are portable. It is a good idea to cover all of your portable brushes and keep them in a clean pocket of your handbag. Remember to keep liquid and powder brushes separate as you would do at home, if not you will end up ruining your brushes very quickly.

You should also clean your brushes on a regular basis, we would say every 2 to 3 weeks. All you need to do is use warm water and a little baby shampoo and rinse until the water runs clear. Once you are done leave them out on a clean towel over night to dry.

Finally make sure you store the rest of your make up correctly in boxes and compartments. Remember to keep your lipsticks, eyeliners, eye shadows and other make up away from any brushes to prevent contamination of your brushes.

Skincare for Teenagers

Filed under: Beauty, clothes, hair, makeup, trends — Admin @ 1:01 am

By Mercedes Aspland

Most teenagers lead very active lives which combined with the hormone levels they experience can cause havoc with their skin. However there are things that can be done to improve the situation and the aim of this article is to give you some advice and tips on how to make things better.

The first thing to say is that you need to keep your skin as clean as possible. You can never expect to have fresh clear skin if it is not clean. In order to keep your skin as clean as possible you should make sure you never sleep in your make up. You should also make sure you clean your skin after playing sport or any other form of physical exercise. It is a good idea to use a gel cleanser that can be used in the shower on young skin. Remember to wash your face every morning and evening to keep it as clean as possible.

You need to make sure you keep a routine with your skincare, you can make it simple so that it is easy to stick to but you need to have one. The best thing to do is to cleanse and moisturise every morning and evening. You should also aim to use a gentle exfoliator 2 or 3 times per week to ensure you remove all the dead skin cells. If you have a problem with spots you may also want to add a spot treatment into your routine but I do not think it will be necessary. If you take care of your skin then that will naturally take care of the spots. You might also want to use a weekly face pack that helps to clean out your pores.

Make sure any moisturiser you use has an SPF of at least 15. This might seem strange and you wont see the benefits now. However this will help your skin to remain young and fresh as you get older and believe me you will be very glad you did it. Also you dont really want to give yourself sunburn and have to go around with a red face for a couple of days.

You should also be very careful with things that you put up to your face. For example you phone, if it is not clean then you can be adding dirt and causing breakouts of spots on your face. The same can be said for your clothes and hats which need to be kept clean. If you keep all of these items as clean as possible you may potentially be keeping your skin in tip top condition.

If you do suffer from spots, the last thing you should do is pick at them. This could result in scars and leave your skin permanently damaged. The best way to handle a spot is to simply get a top quality concealer that matches your skin colour and cover your spots properly. Having said that though, you should aim to cover your spots as little as possible. The more they get air the quicker they will go and the better you will feel.

We are aware your teenage years are difficult but be confident in yourself. Remember almost everyone suffers from spots at some point in their life or another, so if you have them you are probably not on your own.

Giving Your Hair a Home Glossing Treatment

Filed under: Beauty, clothes, hair, makeup, trends — Admin @ 6:10 pm

By Mercedes Aspland

Some people are lucky and are born with naturally shiny hair. If you are not one of these people you will be looking for ways to add shine to your hair. Salons offer glossing treatments but these can be very expensive. The aim of this article is to show you how to give your hair a glossing treatment at home for a fraction of the costs.

Before you begin your glossing treatment it is really important to wash it thoroughly. You are best to use your normal daily shampoo and make sure your rinse properly. You will need to do this to ensure you have removed all of the styling products from your hair. This will also have the added benefit that it will help the glossing treatment to have the maximum effect possible.

You now need to mix up the glossing treatment. We would recommend using Clairol and you can mix the Clairol Professional Colour Gloss with the Radiance Colour Infuser in a small bottle. The amount you use will depend on the length of your hair but make sure you follow the instructions on the bottle. You need to ensure you mix up the 2 products properly so do this by giving your bottle a really good shake.

You now need to start applying the mixture to your hair. Start with the roots and then work down to the ends of your hair making sure you get an even coverage. Then put all your hair together on the top of your head and cover with a plastic cap. This will help to keep any of the mixture off your skin and clothes.

You need to let the mixture set on your hair. The best thing to do is to leave it for around 20 - 30 minutes. If you really want to relax you can sit in the bath while you allow it to set, this will make you feel really pampered and great when you have finished your treatment.

When you have left the treatment to set you need to rinse it out with warm water. At this stage you do not want to shampoo your hair again as this may strip out some of the benefits you get from the treatment and that is the last thing you want to do.

The treatment you are using is a hair colouring treatment and so you need to condition your hair after. We would recommend a deep conditioner that you leave on for around 30 minutes before you rinse off.

After you have rinsed off the conditioner style your hair in the usual way. You hair now will be luscious and shiny. You will be amazed at the results and you will impress all of your friends with your great new hair.

You should apply this treatment on a regular basis but not too often as you dont want to strip away the natural goodness of your hair. If you do it every 8 weeks or so you will maintain great shiny hair. Remember to take care of your hair in between uses as well. You should use a deep conditioner once a week to ensure you keep your hair in tip top condition and prolong the length of time that your treatment last for. Finally enjoy your new shiny hair.
