Your hands are probably one of the most exposed areas of your body. They are continually subject to water, different temperatures and all sorts of things that can damage them. So what can you do to make sure they do not get damaged? This can sometimes be a difficult question to answer however this article aims to give you some tips and advice on keeping your hands in tip top condition.

The first thing to do is to buy a great moisturiser for your hands. There are quite a lot on the market that are specifically for hands and these are good ones to try. You will probably find that had creams are heavier than normal body moisturisers and so will be really good at returning lost moisture to your hands. I would recommend keeping your hand cream with your all the time and applying it to your hands 2-3 times every day.

Another absolute necessity is to use gloves at any time when your hands could be damaged. For example when you are cleaning the house and need to use a lot of water then you should wear gloves. If you get your hands wet and then dry then over and over again you will find that they very quickly dry out. So whenever your hands could be exposed to water, use gloves. Another good time to wear gloves is when you are doing the gardening or any form of physical work. At these occasions your hands can be exposed to rough or abrasive materials that can cause damage. So make sure they are as protected as possible.

To give your hands some extra little treatment you can try soaking them in warm milk for between 30 and 60 seconds. This will help to add extra softness to your hands and make them very luxurious.

If you would like to exfoliate you skin you can do it with a soft brush or textured cloth. You could also try using a body exfoliator on your hands. We would recommend doing this at least once a week to ensure you remove all of your dead skin cells. Always remember to apply your hand cream after you have exfoliated to ensure you lock in the moisture.

If you do find you have dry hands you need to treat them quickly. The best thing to do is to get them slightly damp. Then apply some Vaseline and rub in well. Then you should cover your hands in cotton gloves and sleep with them on. You will probably find you have much softer hands in the morning. Use this treatment as many nights as you need to in order to get your hands back into good condition.

Remember to do regular finger exercises in order to keep your hands supple and young looking. Just five minutes a day should be enough to keep your hands in great conditions.

If you want to pamper yourself you can try getting yourself a wax hand machine. You can then give yourself regular treatments. You will find it is a great way to exfoliate and moisturise the skin of your hands. It will also help to relax the muscles in your hands having an all round benefit and making you feel great inside and out. Do this regularly to make yourself feel great.

6 Steps to Amazing Skin

Filed under: Beauty, clothes, hair, makeup, trends — Admin @ 3:58 am

The wind, dry heat, rain and a constant barrage of makeup can have you feeling like you aren’t always putting your most beautiful face forward. Here I’ve compiled a list of 7 natural tips for softer, smoother more beautiful skin.

1. Is the way you live affecting your skin?

Living an unbalanced life will tell on your skin and face. A bad diet for example, is a recipe for unhealthy skin. Poor weather conditions such as dry, cold and wind remove moisture and affect the circulation which leads to older looking skin. Alcohol, nicotine and a lack of sleep will also tell on your skin.

2. Eat Super Foods for Your Skin.

It was a tradition of Chinas imperial courts for an empress to hand recipes and preparations to her princesses. These were often expensive at the time but now you can buy peanuts, cherries, walnuts, black soya beans and jujube dates in most foot outlets.

If you have dry skin its best to eat oils such as flaxseed oil, olive oil, virgin coconut oil and sesame oil. Eat avocado and a handful of nuts each day.

3. Natural products equal natural beauty.

Many of today’s natural cosmetic products have carcinogenic chemicals on the ingredients list. For example, mascara often contains formaldehyde. Asbestos can sometimes be found in eye blusher. These are all known carcinogens so it’s safer to select natural makeups that are commonly found in health stores.

4. Detoxify Your Skin.

The Chinese believe our bodies expel impurities through the skin. Often though the impurities become trapped which results in a pimple or blemish. It’s important to assist the body’s natural cleansing process so it’s better able to expel the toxins.

A common formula used to detoxify the skin is Internal Cleanse; it’s readily available in most Chinese herb shops. It rich in plant extracts from plants such as the chrysanthemum, peppermint, dandelion, liquorice and white mulberry. These plants gall bladder function and a healthy liver.

5. Exfoliate like the Chinese courtesans.

The skin on our bodies renews itself by shedding the old cells and re-growing new ones in their place. Therefore, an effective way to reduce the appearance of wrinkles is to increase the process of shedding our skin. An alternative to expensive procedures such as dermabrasion is to renew our skin with all natural products. For many centuries Chinese Courtesans would exfoliate with natural products such as kelp, pearl powder, sea weed, dried plum, cane sugar and persimmon leaf. These are readily available at health stores.

6. Yogurt improves the texture of your skin.

One of yogurts many ingredients is lactic acid, this alpha hydroxyl from of acid has amazing benefits for our skin. It peels off the dead layer of skin and leaves the surface feeling smooth. Regular usage will lighten pimples and even the patchy tone of your skin. For best results apply plain organic yoghurt evenly over your face like a regular cream. After 5 minutes wash it away and apply a moisturizer.

May your life be a long, strong and happy one!
